INDIE VILLAGE - SOUTH AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL  - CANADA

Call for films south african film festival canadaFilm Shorts have the ability to transcend traditional storytelling and are fueled by artistic expression, free from the boundaries imposed on feature-length films. The IndieVillage South African Film festival will be a unique showcase of contemporary South African cinema providing for the expansion of its homegrown productions beyond its borders.

While the South African film industry is well established and dynamic the festival will serve to support the  independent artists  and filmmakers by bringing their names, faces and artistic works to screens for those not yet familiar with the depth, range and talent found behind and in front of the South African lens.
In addition with several film festivals already showcasing a few of these films each year and with over 300,000 transplanted South Africans already living here in Canada the festival will continue to feed an ever growing interest for African cinema.
The festival is expected to premier in Toronto, Canada in May 2010.
